Business Hours and Holidays for Your Calendar
How to set the business hours and holiday dates for an Appointments calendar so Omnifox never offers a slot outside your hours.
Every Appointments calendar has its own business hours: the days and time windows in which slots can be booked. Outside of that window, the availability engine will never offer a slot, no matter how open the calendar looks otherwise.
Configuration
- Business hours: a list of rules per day of the week (Sunday=0 … Saturday=6), each with an open time and a close time. You can add more than one window per day — e.g. 9:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00 to keep lunchtime closed.
- Holidays: specific dates (day/month/year) on which the calendar is fully closed, regardless of its usual business hours.
- Time zone: the reference those hours are interpreted in (see the time zones article).
- On Agent-type calendars, the business hours are also intersected with that agent's own shift schedule — only the overlap between both is ever offered.
Steps
- When creating or editing a calendar, set the windows per day (a new calendar defaults to Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:00).
- Add whichever holiday dates apply (year-end, national holidays, one-off closures).
- Save — changes apply immediately to any new slot search.
Example
A "Customer Care" calendar is open Monday–Friday 9:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00, with Dec 25 and Jan 1 marked as holidays. On those dates the slot picker simply shows nothing, even if there's staff available that day.
Tips
- If an agent works a split shift (morning and afternoon with a midday break), add two windows for that day instead of one 9:00–18:00 block.
- Review holidays at the start of each year — they don't roll over automatically.
Troubleshooting
If a customer says "there's nothing available" on a day that should be open, check whether that date was added as a holiday, and — for Agent calendars — whether the agent's own shift is also open that day.
