Connect Facebook Messenger step by step

A complete guide to linking your Facebook Page to Omnifox and start receiving and replying to Messenger from the inbox.

Jul 11, 2026

Connecting Messenger lets you handle your Facebook Page's messages directly from the Omnifox inbox, alongside your other channels.

Requirements

  • You must be an admin on the Facebook Page you want to connect.
  • channels.manage permission on the Omnifox workspace.
  • An active Facebook session in your browser (or your credentials handy).

Steps

  1. Go to Channels → Connect channel.
  2. Pick Messenger from the channel grid.
  3. The Facebook login opens: sign in and accept the permissions (messages, automated responses, referrals, etc.).
  4. If you manage a single Page, Omnifox connects it directly. If you manage several, choose which ones to connect in the selector (see the multi-page connect article).
  5. Once done, the channel shows as active under Channels with your Page's name.

Example

A small business with a single Facebook Page, "Don Luis Bakery", connects Messenger in under a minute: log in, accept permissions, done — Page messages start flowing into the inbox.

Tips

  • After connecting, send yourself a test message to the Page from another Facebook account to confirm it lands in the inbox.
  • You can assign the channel to a specific team from the channel's settings.

Troubleshooting

If the channel was created but no new messages arrive, the webhook subscription likely failed — disconnect and reconnect the Page from Channels.
