What your device needs and which browsers work best for a smooth Omnifox experience.

Omnifox runs entirely from the browser, with no extra software required beyond the optional PWA install. For the best experience — real-time chat, voice calls, notifications — your setup should meet these minimum requirements.

Supported browsers

  • Google Chrome (recommended) — a recent version.
  • Microsoft Edge — a recent, Chromium-based version.
  • Mozilla Firefox — a recent version.
  • Safari — on Mac and iOS, a recent version.

Avoid outdated browsers or compatibility mode: they can break real-time chat, audio playback, or the Workflows editor.

General requirements

  • A stable internet connection (Omnifox uses WebSockets to keep your inbox updating in real time).
  • JavaScript and cookies enabled.
  • Browser notification permission, if you want alerts for new messages while the tab is in the background.
  • Microphone access enabled if you'll be handling or making voice calls from the browser.

Example

An agent who takes calls all day should use an up-to-date Chrome or Edge, with microphone permission already granted, so the call button works without interruptions.

Troubleshooting

  • No audio on a call: check that the browser has microphone permission for the site (the padlock icon in the address bar).
  • Notifications aren't arriving: confirm you accepted the browser's notification permission and that your OS isn't muting them.
  • Inbox isn't updating live: a firewall or proxy may be blocking WebSockets; try a different network or contact your IT team.
