Request the customer's location
Ask the customer to share their location with one tap — ideal for coordinating deliveries or visits.
Instead of asking a customer to type out their address, you can send a button that lets them share their exact location with one tap in WhatsApp. It's handy for coordinating deliveries, on-site visits, or order pickups.
Requirements
- Only available on WhatsApp channels.
- The 24-hour window must be open.
Steps
- In the composer, open the request customer location button.
- Type the message that goes with the button, e.g.: "Could you share your location so we can coordinate delivery?".
- Confirm the send. The customer receives the message with a Share location button.
- When the customer taps the button and shares their position, the location lands in the conversation as a normal inbound message, with the same map-pin format.
Example
A delivery company needs a new customer's exact address. The agent sends the request with "Share your location for today's delivery" and, as soon as the customer taps the button, the location shows up in the chat, ready to copy into the order.
Tips
- The message that goes with the button allows up to 1024 characters — keep it short and explain why you need it.
- If the customer doesn't share their location, you can resend the request later with no limit on attempts.
Troubleshooting
If the location-request button doesn't appear in the composer, check that the 24h window is open and the channel is WhatsApp.
