Send a location pin

Share an exact point on the map with the customer over WhatsApp, with optional name and address.

Jul 11, 2026

When you need to point a customer to your store, a delivery spot, or any place, you can send a location pin right in the WhatsApp chat instead of typing an address as text.

Requirements

  • Only available on WhatsApp channels.
  • The 24-hour window must be open.
  • You need the latitude and longitude of the point (copy them from Google Maps: right-click the point → copy coordinates).

Steps

  1. Open the share location button in the composer.
  2. Fill in Latitude and Longitude (required).
  3. Optionally add the place name (e.g. "Downtown branch") and the address (e.g. "123 Main St").
  4. Check the WhatsApp-style green preview card.
  5. Confirm the send.

Example

A customer asks how to get to the store. The agent opens the modal, pastes latitude -2.170998 and longitude -79.922359, types "Downtown branch" as the name and "123 Main St" as the address, then sends. The customer receives the pin and can open it directly in their maps app.

Tips

  • Coordinates must be within valid ranges (latitude between -90 and 90, longitude between -180 and 180); the system rejects out-of-range values or the (0,0) point.
  • If you don't have the coordinates handy, look up the address in Google Maps and copy it from there.

Troubleshooting

If the location button doesn't appear, the conversation's 24h window may be closed — send a template first to reopen it.
