Desktop push notifications for new conversations
Turn on browser push notifications to find out instantly about new messages and events in Omnifox.
What it is
Desktop (browser push) notifications pop up an alert when something needs your attention, even when Omnifox isn't open in the active tab. They're off by default — each agent chooses what to receive.
Requirements
- Notification permission granted to Omnifox in your browser.
- A device/browser that supports web push notifications.
Steps
- Go to Profile > Notifications.
- Check the Browser permission card — it should read "granted"; if it says "blocked" or "default," enable it first from your browser settings.
- Turn on the master Browser push notifications switch.
- Optionally, set a Do Not Disturb schedule (start time, end time, and timezone).
- Turn each optional alert category on or off, based on what matters to you.
Configuration
- Messages from your customers are always pushed while the master switch is on — this can't be disabled separately.
- Optional categories: AI agent replies, Conversation closed, Workflow triggered, and Team assigned to a teammate.
- Do Not Disturb mutes pushes during the hours you set; an admin can still send a "force push" that overrides your schedule for urgent alerts.
- The Active devices section lists every subscribed browser/device — you can turn off a specific one with Disable on this device.
Example
You want alerts for customer messages and for when an automation fires, but not for conversation closures. Turn on the master switch, keep "Workflow triggered" on, and turn "Conversation closed" off.
Tips
- If you work from several devices, check the Active devices list now and then and disable ones you no longer use.
- Set Do Not Disturb to your off-hours so you don't get pinged overnight.
Troubleshooting
- The switch doesn't respond, or alerts never arrive: check the browser permission card — if it says "blocked," you need to re-enable it manually from the site settings in Chrome/Edge (there's a direct link on the same page).
- I still get alerts even with Do Not Disturb on: an admin may have force-pushed that alert as urgent — that option overrides your personal schedule.
