Recording and sending voice notes in Team

Record a voice note from the Team composer's 🎀 button and send it as an audio message.

Jul 11, 2026

The Team composer has a microphone button (🎀) for recording voice notes and sending them straight into a Space or Direct Message, just like on WhatsApp.

Requirements

  • Your browser needs audio-recording support (MediaRecorder), and you'll need to grant microphone permission when prompted.
  • This button only shows when the composer allows attachments (it's hidden, for example, in a Space's read-only "announce mode").

Steps to record and send

  1. Open a Space or a Direct Message and tap the microphone icon 🎀 in the composer's action row.
  2. Accept the microphone permission if your browser asks for it.
  3. Recording starts: you'll see a pulsing red dot and an mm:ss timer.
  4. Tap βœ• to cancel (nothing is sent) or βœ“ to send the voice note.
  5. The note uploads and shows up in the conversation as a playable audio message.

Example

An agent needs to walk a teammate through a long procedure: instead of typing a paragraph, they tap 🎀, record 40 seconds explaining the steps, and tap βœ“. The teammate gets the audio and listens to it right in the Space's thread.

Tips

  • If you switch conversations mid-recording, the recording stops automatically.
  • The file is saved as something like nota-de-voz-<timestamp> in whatever audio format your browser supports.

Troubleshooting

  • "Couldn't access the microphone": check your browser's microphone permissions for the Omnifox site (the padlock icon in the address bar).
  • "Your browser can't record audio": use an up-to-date browser (recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari); some older browsers don't support MediaRecorder.
  • "Voice note is too large": record a shorter message; there's a file-size limit for Team attachments.
