Sending animated GIFs in Team

The Team composer has a GIF button next to the other actions (attach, voice note, emoji, mention). It lets you search and send animated GIFs from Giphy without leaving the conversation, in any Space or Direct Message.

Requirements

• GIFs are turned on per organization when an admin configures the Giphy integration. If the GIF button isn't showing in your composer, the feature isn't enabled for your account yet.

Steps to send a GIF

1. Open a Space or a Direct Message in Team.
2. Tap the GIF button in the composer's action row.
3. A panel opens with trending GIFs; type a word in the search box (e.g. "thank you" or "celebration") to filter results.
4. Tap the GIF you want: it's sent right away as an image message, with no review tray in between.

Example

An agent closes a tough ticket and wants to celebrate in their team Space: tap GIF, search "celebration", pick one and send it with a single click — it lands in the channel history just like any other image message.

Tips

• Search is debounced slightly as you type so it doesn't spam Giphy with requests.
• Leave the search box empty to see trending GIFs by default.
• Close the panel by clicking outside it or pressing Escape.

Troubleshooting

• No GIF button showing: check with your admin whether the Giphy integration is configured for your organization.
• Search returns nothing: try a simpler or English keyword — very specific terms may have no matches on Giphy.
• A GIF won't load: this is usually a momentary connection issue; close the panel and search again.
