Connect Apple Messages for Business

Connect Apple Messages for Business to Omnifox so customers can chat with you from the iOS Messages app.

Jul 11, 2026

Apple Messages for Business lets customers message you straight from the Messages app on their iPhone, with nothing extra to install. In Omnifox this channel is marked Beta (limited access), because Apple manually approves every business account before enabling live traffic.

Requirements

  • An approved business account in Apple Business Register (register.apple.com)
  • The Business ID issued by Apple
  • A JWT Signing Secret configured to sign messages

Steps to connect

  1. Register (or confirm you already have) your business at register.apple.com and complete Apple's approval process.
  2. Copy the Business ID Apple assigns you.
  3. In Omnifox, go to Channels → Connect New Channel, pick Apple Messages for Business, and paste the Business ID and the JWT Signing Secret.
  4. Save the channel: Omnifox shows you the webhook URL to register.
  5. Go back to Apple Business Register and register that URL as your business's messaging endpoint.

Configuration

  • Business ID: identifies your business account with Apple.
  • JWT Signing Secret: used to sign the communication between Apple and Omnifox.
  • Webhook URL: registered manually in Apple Business Register, not automatically.

Example

A customer taps the "Message" button on Apple Maps or your website and writes directly to your business from the Messages app on their iPhone. The conversation lands in the Omnifox Inbox like any other channel.

Tips

  • Since it's a Beta channel with limited access, factor in Apple's approval timeline before advertising it to customers.
  • Store the JWT Signing Secret in a password manager — it can't be recovered from the interface once saved.

Troubleshooting

  • The channel stays "Pending": Apple Business Register approval can take a while — check the status directly at register.apple.com.
  • No messages after approval: confirm the webhook URL registered with Apple matches exactly what Omnifox showed you.
