Buying add-ons during your trial: why you need to activate your plan first

Why Omnifox blocks paid add-on purchases while your account is on a trial, and how to unlock them.

Jul 11, 2026

During your free trial, your account doesn't yet have a payment method or an active paid plan being charged. That's why Omnifox won't let you purchase paid add-ons (like the Co-browse add-on) until you activate a plan.

Why this rule exists

An add-on is paid through a payment order tied to your subscription. While you're on a pure trial there's no payment gateway attached to your account, so there's nowhere to charge that payment. Changing your plan tier (upgrade/downgrade) during the trial is allowed — buying extras isn't.

How to unlock it

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → Plan tab.
  2. Pick the plan that fits your team and add a payment method (card, PayPal, or bank transfer).
  3. Confirm the activation: your account moves from "trial" to a paid plan with regular billing.
  4. Go back to Billing → Add-ons tab — you'll now be able to purchase the extra you need.

Example

You're trying out Omnifox and want to turn on the Co-browse add-on for your support team. When you try to buy it, you see a notice that you need to activate your plan first. You activate the Crece plan with a credit card, and when you return to Add-ons, you can now pick the Co-browse tier and the number of months.

Tips

  • If you're evaluating several add-ons, activate your final plan before trying them so you don't have to backtrack.
  • Activating your plan doesn't waste your remaining trial days — you simply move to regular billing from that point on.

Troubleshooting

If the add-on's purchase button appears disabled or you see an "activate your plan first" message, check the Plan tab to confirm your account no longer shows as "on trial."
