What happens when your AI credit runs out (pause vs. overage billing)
Understand what happens when your account uses up the AI credit included in your plan, and how to enable overage billing so nothing stops.
Every Omnifox plan includes a monthly AI credit (for the AI agent, translations, and other internal features), shown as Omnifox Balance under Settings → Billing → Balances. What happens once that credit runs out depends on a single setting.
What happens at the limit
- Overage billing OFF: AI features pause until the next billing cycle (or until you top up). Human agents keep working normally — only AI stops.
- Overage billing ON: extra usage keeps being debited automatically from your Omnifox Balance as pay-as-you-go, with no interruption.
How to turn on overage
- Go to Settings → Billing → Balances.
- On the Omnifox Balance card, enable overage billing.
- Check or top up your balance (you can enable auto-recharge with a threshold and an amount, just like the WhatsApp balance).
Example
An account on the Conecta plan uses up its included AI credit mid-month. Without overage enabled, AI pauses and agents see a notice to reply manually. Once overage billing is turned on and $20 is added to the balance, AI resumes and every extra use is debited from that balance.
Tips
- Enable auto-recharge on your Omnifox Balance if your team relies on AI to answer quickly.
- Voice AI access depends on your plan tier (available from Crece and up) — check your plan if you don't see the option.
Troubleshooting
- If AI suddenly stopped replying, check the Omnifox Balance and whether overage billing is on.
- If overage is on but AI still paused, your Omnifox Balance also hit $0 — top it up to bring AI back.
